Fuel Pressure Gauge Discrepancy

Ok, I put my in car gauge in. I have the Nordskog digital gauge.

Only prob is my B&M under the hood reads 5psi lower than my Nordskog gauge, and the sender and the B&M gauge are both mounted together on the Fuel Filter?

Any concerns I should have? Any way I can calibrate the two to match? Which gauge is most likely correct? Any comments?

I have so little trust in my Nordskog gauge that I basically ignore it.

It agrees with the underhood gauge (which is not a B&M gauge and is accurate +/-2%) at idle only.

By the time FP is at 35psi (actual) the Nordskog gauge is already 7psi off (it reads 28psi).

I'd be concerned about this if I didn't have a J&S.

So, what do I do now?

The gauge seems to be sort of accurate. The gauge says 45psi at IDLE, 55psi static,...and 86-90psi WOT...so, that would be right around 5.2psi per pound of boost, so I guess, being that the JR FMU has a rise rate of 5:1(right??) that would be ok......??

Your gauge is probably good enough to use. You didn't expect super accuracy, did you? Only the $$$ full sweep autometer gauges offer accuracy in an electronic FP gauge.

My problem now is that I have a 3 year old Intellitronix (now Nordskog) gauge and a brand new Nordskog sender. The old sender died and I figured Nordskog was probably using the same senders as Intellitronix so I bought just a new sender.

Needless to say they don't work well together. I just don't feel like spending more money on this problem. If I get the time, I'll try to resurrect the old sending unit.

I figure if it can read the pressure, it doesnt matter if it says 100 at static and 190 at WOT, it is still measuring the rise rate accurately.

I will probably install the Cartech this weekend, OH NO, I DIDNT JUST SAY THAT.. [img]biggrin.gif[/img] And maybe if I get really ambitious, the BTC will go in(AGAIN).....

CROM - Do you have the MAP Converter installed already? I only ask this because it would be interesting to see what kind of timing you could run without the BTC. If you believe JR's instructions, you should be able to run near stock timing, I think they say 14 degrees WITHOUT the BTC. I already have the BTC installed and then installed the MAP on top of it. I went from running 1 degree of extra retard without the MAP (using JR fuel enrichment relay) to only 0.3 degrees with it, so it seems to work, and most others seem to be reporting simialr results.

I have my timing set at 16BTDC(stock).

I hear a ping maybe once a week when I put a hard load on the car in a low gear or something stupid like that. I run 93-94 octane all the time.

Yeah, I hate that....Iused to always put more than 4 in, and submit(usually a very lengthy post) and then it would tell me to many images and make me write the whole freakin thing over agian.

I have been using 100 octane in my car....kinda pricey, but damned does my car pull like a bat out of hell with it. I cant wait for 9psi, im gonna run it all the time... [img]cool.gif[/img]
